About

I'm an urban strategist navigating complex transformations through stakeholder facilitation, futures research, and systems thinking.

I currently work at Singapore's Centre for Liveable Cities, where I:

  • Advance regenerative cities research exploring how cities can be liveable and thrive in a climate-changed and resource-constrained environment
  • Convene the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Network connecting mayors, knowledge organisations, and urban leaders from leading cities
  • Advance community partnerships and engagement approaches to bridge local voices and knowledge, policy intent, and on-the-ground implementation

Practice Background

Throughout my career of building places and navigating urban transformation with communities, companies, and public agencies, I have learnt and practiced the idea that successful urban interventions require coordinated change across three layers: Hardware (physical infrastructure) + Software (programs, cultural activities) + Orgware (governance structures, policies). This Hardware-Software-Orgware framework continues to inform how I analyze urban systems, facilitate stakeholder collaboration, and catalyse urban transformation.

Notable stints:

  • Co-founded Shophouse & Co (2012-2020), Singapore's pioneering placemaking consultancy
  • Festival Director of Archifest (2012-2013), restructuring Singapore's architecture festival to engage broader publics.
  • Taught at SUTD, Temasek Polytechnic, LaSalle College of Arts
  • Multidisciplinary designer at FARM Studio.
